Match Ticket refunds
|
Ok I been ill a bit and been reselling my ticket lately on the ticket exchange for a reduced price e.g. palace £45 down to £33
Where do this money go? I can't see anywhere you can reuse ?
Is it only going to be available against your next season ticket ?

Or as one of the many "travel companies" who had a season ticket at The Boleyn - for only £99 a seat you could guarantee that you'd have 2 extra tickets to sell for the big matches for the price of an upgrade.

You can upgrade to adult on a match-by-match basis if you're willing to pay near full matchday prices (minus a few pounds iro the price already paid for your kid's ticket). But I suppose at least you have the option of a guaranteed seat should you wish to bring along an adult for a particular match...

So all those people who bought £99 spares can't use them?

The ticket office will no longer upgrade kid's season tickets to adult for the rest of the season. Wonder why??!

No, all I'm saying is that those who just want to upgrade to adult should pay something like the equivalent ST price for that price band. Plus an admin/handling charge of course. Why should we be treated like someone who has "won" a ticket ballot?

At the wonderful old stadium they just charged you the difference between the average of the kids ST v an adult one
So now it's a lot dearer to upgrade, but they did sell most of them as spares so treat it as one or put you coat on it

All the extra money made goes into a big jar with 'ICONIC' written on it. When we fill it next time we are putting it towards ICONIC mustard dispensers and serviette holders.

Hermit Road 11:22 Sun Jan 8 Re: Match Ticket refunds I'd give my ticket away. Or let it go to waste before I gave this board the chance to make a couple of quid selling it.

Mach day Band 5 price for Crystal Palace is £30
They offer you £2 to sell it on ticket trader or you can pay an extra £28 to upgrade it
Therefore you'll be paying matchday prices,
If you ticket trade it they get the £2, as they sell it at up to £30 or £15
If your not using it much might as well up grade to an adult one

If I'm understanding you correctly, are you saying that an adult should be able to use a kid's ticket without paying the adult price?
Why wouldn't we all just buy kid's ticket and do what you're saying every game? That ticket is worth £5.21 - why shouldn't an adult pay the difference? How is that a ripoff?
I can only think I'm misunderstanding this.

Band 5. I'd rather let the seat go empty than be ripped off for " doing the right thing". You'd be surprised how quickly people lose interest in my free kid's ticket when told of the club's ticket upgrade price...! BTW, I'm told that Chelsea don't allow upgrades of any kind on any of their tickets. Strictly Ticket Exchange only, as with all other PL sides (yeah, right, tell that to the touts and ticketing websites...)

I've now been quoted £28 for upgrading to adult for Palace. So does it depend on who you see at the ticket office? Hardly inspires confidence. I still think that's exorbitant considering that the ticket was always mine anyway. All they do is literally press a few buttons to note the upgrade, they don't even have to find a seller. What's wrong with just charging a reasonable admin/ handling fee for such a straightforward transaction?

Same, that's why I can't understand the £33 figure. I'm sure it's much lower

Man City League game is CAT B, midweek Feb on TV, City Superstars ain't that super after all.
Thought that this would easily be CAT A, with only 3-4,000 to sell
London Tourists and Thomas Cook lot would pay top dollar no problem !!

Anyone see goldos tweet pre arsenal? Someone moaned bout £50 kids ticket being more than usual prices, and he said £50 per match IS the normal kids ticket price, but other games are reduced....

Re: Match Ticket refunds

You think that's bad? If I "sold" my kid's ticket via Tick Xch, all I would have got back is just £2 credit to be used towards next season's ST renewal. But of course the club will sell it for well above their usual matchday price to somebody else - or expect me to pay no less than £37 to upgrade it to adult! (Price quoted by ticket office for an adult ticket upgrade in the same price band for Crystal Palace, a Category B PL game. Or have WH suddenly decided to "upgrade" the match category because they're London rivals?)

Interesting to hear comments made about using credit balance to purchase tickets. I was told by the ticket office that i could not use my credit towards purchase of Man City cup tickets as their system was not working. I suspected at the time that they would only allow the credit to go towards next season's season ticket. Why advertise the facility in the first place if they won't let you use the credit when you want. What other business would work like this?
